An extruded aluminum bar linear grille with a mud-in flange for drywall and plaster ceilings and walls. The flange is taped and finished over, so once the surface is done only the bars show — no frame around the opening. Every unit is made to order: choose the opening size, a fixed or removable core, one of six blade profiles, a mounting method, and a finish.
Frameless Finish
The recessed mud-in flange sits behind the drywall face and is taped and plastered over. The result is a clean slot of bars set into the ceiling or wall, with no visible border.
Fixed or Removable Core
Choose a fixed core, or a removable core that lifts out of the plastered-in frame so the duct behind it can be reached without disturbing the finished surface.
Six Blade Profiles
Straight 0° bars, 15° and 30° deflection, a fine 1/8" air flow core, pencil-proof, and heel-proof. Blade style is chosen in Custom Options.
Made to Your Opening
Two hundred and thirty-four size combinations — thirteen opening heights from 2" to 20", and lengths from 8" to 84". Built to order rather than cut down from a standard part.
Extruded Aluminum
Fully extruded rather than stamped, so the bars hold a true line across a long run where any sag or twist would show against a smooth plaster finish.
Four Finishes
White, Silver and Flat Black powder coat, or Primed to be painted on site to match the surrounding wall or ceiling.
Choose your core
Core is chosen with the size and finish selectors above.
Fixed Core
The blades are fixed in the frame. The standard choice when nothing behind the grille will need regular access.
Removable Core
The blade core comes out of the frame while the flange stays plastered in place, giving access to the duct without cutting into the finished surface. Required for D — Sidewall screw holes mounting.
Choose your blade style
Blade style is set in Custom Options above, not by the size selector. It changes both how the grille looks and how it throws air. Every profile is set on 1/2" centers except –84–, which is on 1/4" centers. –00– is the most commonly ordered.
Most common
Note: the –84– heel-proof blade can’t be paired with C — Concealed brackets on a Solid Core. Choose a Removable Core, or a different mounting method.
Choose your mounting
Set in Custom Options. Three methods are offered for ceiling and wall work.
Color-matched screws in countersunk holes — included at no extra cost
Fastened to duct-mounted brackets hidden behind the blades — paid upgrade. Not available with the –84– blade on a Solid Core.
D — Sidewall screw holes
Screws are driven at a 45° angle through the inner flange, so no fasteners show on the face. Only available with the Removable Core.
Sizing
Order by the opening size — the size of the hole framed in the ceiling or wall.
- Mud-in flange: the overall flange measures the opening size plus 1-11/16" in both directions. It sits behind the drywall face and is taped and finished over.
- Sleeve: the body behind the flange is 1/8" smaller than the opening size, so it drops into an opening cut to size.
- Depth: 2" behind the drywall face.
- Opening heights: 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 7", 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", 18", 20"
- Opening lengths: 8" to 24" in 2" increments, then every 6" up to 84"
- Longer runs: sections over 84" can be joined into a continuous length with aligning pins. Contact the sales team for a continuous run.
| Opening height | Overall flange height | Lengths available |
|---|---|---|
| 2" | 3-11/16" | 8" to 84" |
| 3" | 4-11/16" | 8" to 84" |
| 4" | 5-11/16" | 8" to 84" |
| 5" | 6-11/16" | 8" to 84" |
| 6" | 7-11/16" | 8" to 84" |
| 7" | 8-11/16" | 8" to 84" |
| 8" | 9-11/16" | 8" to 84" |
| 10" | 11-11/16" | 8" to 84" |
| 12" | 13-11/16" | 8" to 78" |
| 14" | 15-11/16" | 8" to 72" |
| 16" | 17-11/16" | 8" to 66" |
| 18" | 19-11/16" | 8" to 66" |
| 20" | 21-11/16" | 8" to 60" |
Lengths run 8" to 24" in 2" increments, then every 6". The taller the grille, the shorter the longest single piece — from 12" high upward the maximum length steps down, as shown above.
Install before the wall or ceiling is finished. The mud-in flange is fixed in the opening and then taped and plastered over. It is not designed to be added to a surface that is already finished. For a finished wall or ceiling, the ceiling or wall installation model has a visible frame that sits over the opening instead.
Optional damper
An opposed-blade damper can be added in Custom Options to balance or shut off airflow at the grille.
