Linus ProAir Aluminum Linear Slot Diffusers - Fully Customizable - 3 Slots

SKU: LPALSD503-E2-12-3-W

Manufacturing time is 2 to 4 weeks.

The Linus ProAir is a fully extruded aluminum linear slot diffuser built for architects, engineers, and contractors who need real airflow performance behind a clean architectural line. This is the three-slot model, but available for 1 to 4-slot configurations with 1/2", 3/4", and 1" slot widths. Standard and custom sizes available in any length.

100% Extruded Aluminum

No steel, no plastic, no stamping, no casting. North American-made extruded aluminum resists rust, corrosion, and moisture. At roughly 15% heavier than standard market alternatives, the difference is apparent the moment you handle it.

Aerodynamic Ice Tong Controllers

Extruded aluminum pattern controllers give up to 180° of airflow direction control — one-way, opposed, vertical, horizontal, or fully dampered. Field adjustable, and because they are aluminum rather than plastic they resist corrosion and stay quiet over the life of the install.

Three Slots, Three Openings

Three slots in 1/2", 3/4", or 1" vertical opening. More slots means broader coverage and higher air capacity for the same run length — choose the opening that meets your CFM requirement and holds your sightline.

Continuous Runs

Thirteen standard lengths in 6" increments from 12" to 84". Longer runs are joined with alignment pins for a seamless, uninterrupted line — suited to open-ceiling commercial and high-end residential work.

Field Cuttable

Ordered to length from the factory and trimmed on site with a fine-tooth, high-speed carbon blade. Up to 3" can come off each end — 6" total — which is usually enough to absorb a framing surprise during fit-out.

Slim 0.055" Faceplate

A low-profile faceplate that sits flush against the ceiling or wall, with an overall profile depth of 1.90" — worth checking against your plenum clearance before you specify.

White, Black, or Primed

Durable white or black powder coat, or a primed coat with a fine texture that takes wall paint evenly for a fully color-matched result. When painting the primed finish, mask the ice tong louver blades first.

Dimensions

Face width — three slots

Slot vertical opening Outside width Inside width

3/4" 6" 4.75"
1" 6.75" 5.5"

Profile depth is 1.90". View the full chart for every slot count and opening.

Length

Order by the nominal length shown in the size selector. The two dimensions installers ask for are derived from it:

  • Overall outside length = ordered length + 1-1/2"
  • Overall inside length = ordered length − 1/2"

A 48" unit therefore measures 49-1/2" overall and 47-1/2" inside. The size selector shows the overall figure alongside each length.

Mounting options

Three installation configurations, each giving a finish appropriate to commercial and architectural work. Concealed bracket adds 10% to the unit price.

Concealed bracket mounting: the faceplate clips to a hidden bracket with no visible fasteners

Lay-in installation: the diffuser rests in a ceiling grid with no mounting hardware

Field cutting

  • Units are ordered to length from the factory but can be cut on site. Use a fine-tooth, high-speed carbon blade for aluminum.
  • A maximum of 3" can be cut from each end.
  • Cutting both ends allows up to 6" of total adjustment.
  • For adjustments over 2", slide the retaining clip against the support.
  • Remove the end caps before cutting and reattach once complete.

Airflow pattern

Each slot carries its own extruded aluminum ice tong pattern controller, giving up to 180° of direction control per slot. Slots can be set independently — one-way, opposed, vertical, horizontal, or fully dampered — so a three-slot unit can throw air in several directions from a single run, or shut individual slots down entirely.

Maximum pattern controller length is 60". Units longer than that are supplied with multiple controllers per slot, each adjustable on its own.

FAQs

Decorative resin covers are designed for wall and ceiling applications only — they are not rated for floor use. They're lightweight enough to mount safely overhead and decorative enough for walls where you want more visual detail than a stamped metal grille. If you need a floor register, our wood, metal, and cast iron options are built to be walked on.

Resin covers don't rust like metal, don't splinter like wood, and are significantly lighter than either — which makes them ideal for ceilings. They're formulated to handle the thermal cycling of central air and heat, so they won't warp or crack from temperature changes. Urethane resin is also stable in moisture-rich environments like bathrooms, where metal can corrode and wood can swell.

Yes — unfinished resin covers can be painted to match your walls or trim. However, covers that have already been painted at the factory are non-returnable. If you plan to paint, order an unpainted cover, apply your chosen color after testing on a sample, and install once dry. Standard spray paint adheres well to resin; no special primer is required for most colors.

Yes. Our decorative resin covers are available in standard sizes and hard-to-find dimensions — the same custom sizing program that covers wood and metal also applies to resin. If your duct opening doesn't match a listed size, contact us with your measurements and we'll confirm what's available. Allow approximately 6 weeks for custom resin orders.
