Tips for Cleaning Your Oil-Rubbed Bronze Vent Covers
- Avoid using any abrasive cleaners or brushes. Oil-brushed bronze can be scratched by stiff brushes and is best cleaned with a soft microfiber cloth. Frequent dusting will keep the buildup of dirt at a minimum.
- To deep clean your vent cover, dampen the microfiber cloth and wipe the surface dust off the vent cover. Then, use a dry cloth to wipe off any excess moisture and prevent spotting on the surface.
- If the dirt and grime is stuck on, or it’s been awhile since you cleaned the cover, you may need to use a mixture of vinegar and water to gently remove build up. Simply combine a half cup of water with a quarter cup of white vinegar. This will break down any stuck-on dirt. Immediately dry the vent cover to prevent spotting.
- Clean your vent cover regularly to keep the process simple and reduce build up more regularly. If you notice that your vent cover has changed colors over time, don’t panic. This is common and simply a part of the aging process.
